Non-Insulated systems are best at containing the spread of fire from flame movement only. They do not restrict the spread of heat, nor do they create a habitable environment for building occupants. These systems should not be used as fire escapes, or in situations where restricting heat transfer is required to protect life or property.

A high level of radiant heat protection can be achieved when the Pilkington Pyrodur® fire glass is used, as this type of glass can turn opaque during a fire.

There are other types of fire rated glass products that remain clear during a fire, and are designed for flame and smoke resistance only.

All non-insulated door and window systems supplied by Australasia Fire & Safety meet the requirements of AS1530.5, AS1288, and the BCA when used appropriately.

Integrity only non-insulated systems include:

• single and pair doors
• fixed panes
• automatic closing side and top hung awning windows.
