Pilkington Pyrostop®

Pilkington Pyroclear® - Advanced toughened fire-resistant glass for basic integrity. Protects against heat, flames and hot gases at the highest level.

  • A clear high performance monolithic fire-resistant and safety glass designed to provide basic integrity  performance.
  • New technology crafted and perfected by Pilkington for several years, built on an in-depth understanding of the behaviour of glass in fire, including new knowledge of the detail that influences the probability of glass failure.
  • Successfully tested in many fire doors, partitions and façade systems, covering vertical, horizontal and inclined glazing situations all over the world.
  • Maximises natural light and visibility.

Pilkington Pyroclear® is a unique, NEW, special modified toughened glass with 30 and 60 minutes integrity (E)(2).

It was designed for consistency using proprietary NSG processing technology, with a special toughening specification and specific control criteria. The product design and use is backed by a new validated computer model. Pilkington Pyroclear® has achieved 50 successive tests in timber frames before launch. It is less sensitive to edge cover relative to standard modified toughened glasses. It's available in large sizes and flexible use in timber, metal and composite doors and screens. It is ideal for safe escape before fire conditions become uncontrolallable.
